SMS Terms & Consent

Last updated: June 26, 2026

SendLynx is a booking platform for local service businesses (barbers, salons, spas, trainers, cleaners, and similar). When a business enables text messaging, that business sends its clients appointment-related text messages using SendLynx's platform and our messaging provider, Twilio. The business is the sender; SendLynx provides the technology that delivers the messages on the business's instruction.

How clients opt in

Consent to receive text messages is collected on the business's public booking page, while the client is booking an appointment. At the contact-details step the client may check a clearly labeled SMS consent box. The box is unchecked by default; checking it is an explicit, affirmative opt-in. Texting is never required to book, and consent is never assumed from booking alone.

The consent box presents the following disclosure to the client:

“Text me appointment confirmations, reminders & occasional nudges to rebook at the number above. By checking this box you agree to receive appointment-related texts from [Business Name] (via SendLynx). Consent is not a condition of booking. Message frequency varies (typically 1 to 3 per appointment). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. See Terms and Privacy Policy.” — with Terms and Privacy Policy as actual clickable links in the live UI.

The client must also enter their mobile number in the same form. Consent granted at booking applies to the specific business the client is booking with. Because texts are delivered over a shared SendLynx number, a STOP reply stops texts from every business messaging that phone number through SendLynx (this is how carrier-level opt-out works), and a later START restores them.

What messages we send

Messages are appointment-related and tied to your relationship with the business: a booking confirmation when the appointment is made, reminders before the appointment (typically 24 hours and 2 hours prior), payment receipts and quote/invoice notifications for that business, and occasional reminders to rebook with that same business when it may be time for your next appointment. We do not send third-party marketing or unrelated promotional text messages through this consent.

Message frequency

Frequency varies by how often a client books, but is typically 1 to 3 messages per appointment (a confirmation plus reminders), with occasional rebooking reminders between appointments.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply, depending on the client's mobile carrier and plan.

Opting out and help

A client can reply STOP to any message at any time to immediately stop all further texts; the business, through SendLynx's automated handling, confirms the opt-out and sends nothing further. Reply HELP for help, or contact the business directly. After a STOP, a client can opt back in at any time by replying START (or UNSTOP) from the same number — for the client's protection, re-checking a consent box on a later booking does not override a STOP.

Privacy

Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are used only to deliver the appointment messages a client opted into. We do not share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle data generally.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these SMS Terms is governed by the Dispute Resolution, Binding Arbitration, Class Action Waiver, Jury Trial Waiver, Governing Law, Exclusive Venue, and Time-Limit provisions of our Terms of Service, which are incorporated here by reference.
